Service Enhanced at Ilewo-Orile Primary Health Centre

Monarch and Community members celebrate

LDS Charities, The Humanitarian arm of the Church Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, continues to support and strengthen existing health systems through Public/Private Partnership as Ilewo-Orile Primary Health Centre in ilewo-Orile Community in Ogun State received a facelift, as well as new medical equipment donated by the Church.

 

It was singing and dancing as the community received the renovated Health Centre and medical equipment provided by LDS Charities.

Mrs. A.O Williams, Assistant Director Officer in-Charge (O.I.C) Primary Health Centre Ilewo-Orile remarked, “Today marks a remarkable day in the life of this Community. It is hard to believe. The church has just portrayed an example other faiths need to learn and follow. This act of kindness rendered to us, will linger in our memory for a long time.”

The 18-day renovation project of Ilewo-Orile Primary Health Centre included painting, roofing, change of ceilings, doors, window nets, new Water Closets, tilling of the floors and wall by service project by Ilewo-Orile Community and LDS Charities while the medical equipment donated includes a Screen, Delivery Kits, Malaria test kits, HIV Kits, Baby Cot, Sterilizing Machine, Trolley, Circumcision kits, Suction Machine, Bench Centrifuge, Sphygmomanometer, Delivery bed and Hospital Beds & Mattresses.

The Elewo of Ilewo-Orile kingdom, Oba Clement Kolawole expressed delight at the kind gestures. The traditional ruler, represented by the Bagbimo of Ilewo-Orile, Chief Aremu Omiremi, urged the people to patronize the Health Centre and make judicious use of the equipment.”  High Chief Aremu added; “Our people do not need to go to Abeokuta for medical treatment anymore. My promise to the church is that we will maintain and keep the place in good condition”.

The Chairman of Oke-Ogun LCDA, Honorable Salami Taoreed, stated that the project complements the effort of the State Government at providing qualitative healthcare system for the people of the state. He said, “Our governor has been clamoring, for support from non-government organizations and this church has given us exactly what the people of this community want. We will try and make sure that qualified personnel who can handle the equipment are transferred to the Centre.” He also promised to carry the State Governor along on the laudable development.

President Ebenezer Ogundele, the Abeokuta Nigeria Stake President, who presented the renovated Health Centre with donated medical equipment on behalf of LDS Charities to the Monorach, Elewo of Ilewo-Orile, express his gratitude to the community. “We are sure this will bring comfort to our people and subsequently lead to development of the society. Our Church places premium attention to a better livelihood for our people”, he said.

He charged the community to keep the hospital clean and maintain all the equipment donated.
